How Do I Know Your Data is Accurate?

I suppose that is a valid question, although I've already alluded to why you can trust our data. Let's dig a little deeper, though. It does no good for us to publish all this data if you don't trust that it is accurate. So, here's why you can trust the data you will find on this site.

First, AMSOIL runs hundreds of "in-house" tests to determine how their oils compare to others in the industry. Then they request independent labs to perform the tests again in order to verify the results by a third party. These labs only run industry standardized tests - tests that can be run by any other company, using the same standardized test parameters to acheive the very same results.

The tests shown in the comparison data referenced on this site are the actual tests used in the industry to classify lubricants as a particular viscosity or to establish whether they meet API or other certification standards. These are not "off the wall" tests like those you'll see on many other "specialty" oil sites trying to "prove" they're better without actually "proving" anything. These are standardized, repeatable tests, run by an independent lab, and heavily publicized by AMSOIL using actual competing oil brand names.

Try getting that from any other oil manufacturer. Other oil companies simply don't do that. They often use tests that are NOT standard to the industry and are NOT repeatable. Then, to cloud the issue even further they use names such as "Competitor A" to describe the oil brands they are comparing against.

Talk about insulating yourself against ANY possibility of a lawsuit. Use a test that nobody else can repeat - so they can't refute your "data". Then, don't use any actual brand names, so no other company can even complain about the test. After all, how do they know that their oil is even the one being compared against?

When AMSOIL publishes test data, they publish data from standardized, repeatable tests AND we publish the names of those oils we're competing against.

The only question I have for you is, if the results of AMSOIL's comparison testing had been falsified, skewed or tampered with in any way, wouldn't someone be taking AMSOIL to court? Wouldn't Mobil 1 be suing the AMSOIL company for everything they're worth? I believe they would. In fact, lawsuits like that are VERY common in the lubricants industry.

Interestingly enough, however, not one company is suing AMSOIL over those test results. Doesn't that say something about their validity? What about the fact that the FTC is tearing into oil additive manufacturers left and right regarding their bogus claims of enhanced engine protection, but hasn't said a word about the claims made by the AMSOIL company, and those claims have been made by AMSOIL for over 3 decades!
